PASR members are part of a state wide organization of retirees who worked for the Pennsylvania public school systems and are members of PSERS (Pennsylvania School Employees Retirement System).
You can learn more about us by watching the video below. Each local chapter has its own leadership and controls its own activities but we are guided by the state level organization.
The state legislature finally passed a Cost Of Living Allowance measure for those who retired before 2001. The increase ranges from 15% to 24.5% depending on how many years it has been since retirement. The COLA for July, August and September will show up in your October check. In November retirees will get the new monthly amount.
PASR is continuing to work for a COLA for all retirees with the hope of making the COLA automatic.
May is the Month of Giving. The Social Service Memorial Honor Fund presents gifts to our 90 plus members in appreciation of their many years of dedication to the community and the chapter. December is the Month of Remembering. We remember our members who are in nursing homes, homebound and hospitalized for their many years of work in the schools and their work in the community.
