You probably know that Medicare cards have changed to help protect your identity. Your new card will have a new Medicare Number that’s unique to you, instead of your Social Security Number. Unfortunately, con artists may still try to steal your personal information.
So what can you do to protect yourself? Guard your card, like a credit card. And don’t give your Medicare Number over the phone or email. Remember, Medicare never calls you unless you’ve asked them to.
